Gintama Anime Bids Farewell with Final Settlement Event In March
The Gintama series is going to hold its last event on 19th March 2023, ( tentative ) in Ryogoku Kokugikan Tokyo.
The event is called “Ato no Matsuri” which means “Festival Afterwards” is based on a Japanese proverb meaning “too late to regret”.
The announcement was made through the series’ official Twitter handle and the official website. The website also announced advance booking will be made through a lottery application starting from October 11, 2022, and the result will be announced on November 2, 2022.
For the finale event, the following cast of the anime will be coming together:
- Tomokazu Sugita – Gintoki Sakata
- Daisuke Sakaguchi – Shinpachi Shimura
- Rie Kugimiya – Kagura
- Susumu Chiba – Isao Kondo
- Kazuya Nakai – Toshiro Hijikata
- Kenichi Suzumura – Sougo Okita
- Tetsuhara Ohta – Sagaru Yamazaki
- Mikako Takahashi – Sadaharu / Tsu Terakado
Along with this, the rock band DOES will be performing at the event. The band has given many theme songs for the anime.
Gintama is an original manga series written and illustrated by Hideaki Sorachi. JUMP Magazine started publishing the series from December 2003 and ran till June 2019. The series has collected 77 volumes and 704 chapters and sold over 55 million copies worldwide.
The series also got different anime adaptations by different studios which aired 367 episodes from 2006 to 2018, along with many light novels, OVAs, live actions, spinoffs and movie adaptations.
