Eromanga Sensei Season 2 Current Status, Expected Release Date

Anime never ceases to surprise us when it comes to new and peculiar ideas. One such anime that surprised everyone was “Eromanga Sensei”. This series was a slice of life rom-com harem anime that created fun-filled havoc on the internet after its release. But when the series ended fans were left with the wish to see the cute characters of this show return to the screens again but when will it happen? Will there be Eromanga Sensei Season 2? Manga Status Of The Anime

Eromanga Sensei was first published as a light novel by Tsukasa Fushimi. Its serialization began on December 10, 2013, and it was completed in May 2021 with 12 volumes. The series managed to get a manga adaptation on May 27, 2014, that ran till May 27, 2021. It was written by Tsukasa Fushimi and illustrated by Rin. The manga had 12 volumes consisting of 79 chapters.

The first season of Eromanga Sensei only used the content till Volume 3 “The Fairy Festival.” The manga was a great hit and it had more than a million copies in print. The series was so loved by fans that the Spinoff of the manga was also created and released as “Elf Yamada’s cooked meals of pure love”.

Will There Be Eromanga Sensei Season 2: 

Just like the manga, the anime adaptation by A-1 Studio was also loved by the watchers. Its ratings were not very high but it is way more popular than other shows. Also, there are still 9 more volumes left that can be used in Eromanga Sensei Season 2. So, fans can assure themselves that the show is not short on content. It got the ratings of 6.42 by 346k members on the MAL group and ranked #6589 and #241 on the popularity poll on MyAnimeList respectively. 

The series was able to get quite a big fan base for itself. However, it was a bit controversial for its concept and got banned in Australia. So the possibility of this show getting renewed isn’t 100% confirmed. But the manga is still getting good responses from the readers. So there’s a huge possibility that we may get an update from the makers on the renewal of the series.

What Will Happen Next? 

The plot of this show follows Masamune Izumi, a 15-year-old novelist who takes care of his half 13-year-old half-sister Masamune Saigiri. She was in shock after their parent’s death. Izumi’s written novel has been illustrated by “Eromanga Sensei” who drew perverted illustrations for Izumi’s novels. Izumi was a big fan of the Sensei but little did he know that Sensei was none other than his sister Sagiri.The anime left off at the point where the series focused on the relationship of Izumi and Sagiri and their rivalry with Yamada and Muramasa. In Eromanga Sensei, Izumi and Sagiri will manage to get the anime adaptation of their work. Also, Izumi will hand over a marriage form to Sagiri after confessing his feelings to her.

Release Date

The official website of the anime was last updated in December 2018. It was an announcement for the OVA episodes. After that, there was no update on the series from the creators and Studio. However, it might be a matter of time until an update comes. There is a possibility that an update on Eromanga Sensei Season 2 might very well come by next year. If the renewal comes, then the show might still not release anytime before 2023.
