The recent movie Jujutsu Kaisen 0 has been a blockbuster and has set a record after grossing $196.4 million worldwide. Now, Jujutsu has been keeping its hype alive with small announcements for anime season 2.

The year 2023 will be a bittersweet year for the fans as Gege Akutami, the author of the series, has said that manga might end soon. So, will Season 2 be good enough to satisfy fans? What arcs will be in season 2? How many episodes will be in season 2? Get all these details along with release date of Jujutsu Kaisen season 2.

Release Date

During an event in September 2022 for the movie Jujutsu Kaisen 0, it was announced that season 2 will be released in 2023. In January 2023, it was confirmed that JuJutsu Kaisen Season 2 will premiere in July 2023.

Furthermore, the anime will be divided into two cour, as done in other animes made by the production house. The season is expected to consist of 24 episodes or more, making its run time more than 6 months. Hence the anime will book two slots for both Summer and Fall seasons for the anime.

Cast

The cast for these new characters is yet to be revealed but it can be announced anytime soon now. It is expected that most of the artists who gave their voices to characters in season 1 will continue playing them in season 2 also. The current cast is as follows:

  • Yuji Itadori – played by Junya Enoki
  • Nobara Kugisaki – Asami Seto
  • Megumi Fushiguro – Yuma Uchida
  • Gojo Satoru – Yûichi Nakamura
  • Ryomen Sukuna – Junichi Suwabe
  • Geto Suguru – Takahiro Sakurai**

It is highly unlikely that Takahiro Sakurai will reprise his role as Geto. The next season will have a brief part of Geto Suguru and his original Seiyuu might not be in season 2. Takahiro was excluded from many famous shows for his illicit infidelity controversy. So, he might not be in season 2, which is a bit troublesome, as Geto has a big role in season 2.

Arcs & Storylines

The first season of the anime ended in chapter 64 volume 8 in the Death Painting Arc. The next season will have two arcs, Gojo Past Arc and the Shibuya Incident Arc.

These arcs are from chapter 65 to chapter 136 in manga in volumes 9 to 16. The previous season adapted 2 or 3 chapters from the manga for each episode. If the same pacing is continued, it confirms that season 2 will have 24 episodes covering around 70 chapters.

The Gojo Past arc will have Gojo reminiscing about his High School days, with his best friend Geto. This will also include the mission to escort Star Plasma Vessel.

Later, The Shibuya Incident arc will be Geto’s plan in motion to seal Gojo Satoru. In response, Yuji and his companionsgo to to Shibuya station to stop Geto’s plan. To know everything about the Shibuya Incident arc detail check out this article.
