Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales Of The Macabre Trailer, Opening, Cast & Staff Revealed!

The anime fans received a whole lot of promotional stuff for the upcoming anime Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales Of The Macabre on 27th October 2022.

Netflix Anime revealed its first visual trailer, opening theme, and clip shots from the anime on the anime’s official website. Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales Of The Macabre is set to premiere on 19th January 2023 exclusively on Netflix. 

The opening theme of the anime will be “Paranoid” performed by MADKID and composed by LIN and YUKI. You can check the opening theme below.

As per the website, the series staff will be;

  • Music: Yuki Hayashi
  • Acoustic Director: Goda Hozumi
  • Production Studio: Studio Dean

And as for the cast, a long list of Seiyuu has joined the team. The anime is going to be a compilation of 20 short horror stories by Junji Ito’s different mangas such as Hanging Balloons, Tomie, and Souichi. With all this ongoing, Junji Ito also revealed another anime project named Itō Junji Kesssaku-shū (Junji Ito Masterworks Collection). The manga has 11 volumes of some famous and popular works between 2011 and 2013.

Junji Ito is a famous mangaka known for his works in the Horror Seinen genre. Uzumaki, Tomie, and Gyo are some of his most popular mangas. Also, many of his mangas have got anime adaptions before, such as Uzumaki, which is said to be undeniably his best work.

He has been active since 1987 and without even creating a collective arc for a long manga series, he has done remarkable work in the horror genre solely with his short stories. The fanbase of his peculiar and creepy mangas is quite big, and always supported his work, which inspired him more and to continue his work.
