One Piece Film Red Earns $7.5 Million First Weekend in US

One Piece Film Red has set a new franchise record in its US release. The film earned US$7.5 Million in its first weekend from November 3th to November 5th.

The movie has made 5.5 times more revenue that the previous movie in the series, One Piece Stampede, in the US. Red has made a total of 75, 15,251 USD gain whereas Stampede has only made a total of $13, 85,571 USD.

Also, the movie has continued its fine run at the Japanese Box Office after its release on August 6, 2022. It has earned 18 billion yen on its 93-day run after earning 2 billion yen in its first weekend.

One Piece Film Red has already taken the spot of 9th highest grossing anime movie in Japan. Approximately, 13 million people have seen the movie in Japan. The creator of the One Piece manga, Eiichiro Oda, also produced a Gordon poster to mark the occasion.

According to reports, the film is doing well both in Australia and Europe also. In a LinkedIn update by Crunchyroll’s EMEA Community Marketing Manager René Kayser, the One Piece Film Red attracted 100,000 viewers on its first day in Germany and is currently topping the box office charts their also.

It is expected that the film may surpass Jujutsu Kaisen 0 in the German box office. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 had the largest opening weekend in Germany in the previous 15 years.
