Ultraman Final Season Announced for Spring 2023
The Ultraman anime series’ third and final season has been announced.
On 6th October 2022, the series’ official website revealed that the last season of the famous Ultraman series will return as 3DCG series in Spring 2023 slot exclusively on Netflix.
The announcement also released a teaser visual illustrated by the original authors, Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi. It is also revealed that the production team from the previous season of Ultraman will continue to be at the helm for the final season also. The crew for the final season is as follows:
- Direction – Keniji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki
- Music composition – Nobuko Toda and Kazuma Jinnai
- Animation Studio – Production IG and SOLA DIGITAL ARTS.
Ultraman started as a TV show 56 years ago in January 1966. The series has been adapted to several different entertainment genres and has grossed billions all around the world.
In 2019, a special ONA series was announced and aired by the franchise on 1st April 2019 on Netflix which ran for 16 episodes. On the ending cue, the official website also announced that the series is getting renewed for another season in 2022. Keeping the promise, the series returned in July 2022, airing 6 episodes and it’s heading on its final course with the last season in spring 2023.
Ultraman series is originally an action sci-fi television series of the famous Kaiju genre. It doesn’t follow any kind of novel or manga but the show has several different adaptations. Although, there is a manga adaptation going on along with the current ONA written by Eichi Shimizu, illustrated by Tomohiro Shimoguchi, and published by Hero’s Inc. on Monthly Hero’s and Comiplex magazines. Since October 2011, the series has collected 18 volumes and is still ongoing.
The series follows Shinjiro Hayata, the son of Shin Hayata who is actually the first Ultraman. Shinjiro also possesses a peculiar talents of Ultraman. Although the Ultraman has become legend after so many years, new and far more vicious Kaijus have returned to earth to invade. And now earth and Shinjiro Hayata has to face them for better or for worse.
