Type-Moon’s Mahoutsukai No Yoru New Anime Movie Announced
If there is someone who calls themselves an Otaku & never heard the name of the Fate series, then he certainly isn’t one. The Fate series itself is celebrated as peak animation and best alternative storylines anime. The reason which made the series so successful was not just its “god-tier ” animation, but the characters & plot also contributed. There is no character or scenario in the Fate series which is left unexplained or was ignored by the makers.
The series Itself is a saga, and now it is ready to add another film to its collection to continue its legacy. A new film titled “Mahoutsukai No Yoru” is announced. Mahoutsukai no Yoru aka Witch on the Holy Night, is based on a visual novel of the same name. The novel was developed by Type-Moon and was released on April 12, 2012. Also, there is a light novel adaptation of a single volume & 8 chapters by Nasu Kinoko.

Anime Film Announcement
Aoko Aozaki has been an intriguing figure for anime fans until now. She has appeared as a minor character in the Tsukihime game (2000) and anime (2003). She was portrayed as a mysterious red-haired woman who gave Shiki the glasses which blocked death lines.
On December 26, 2021, the official website of Studio Ufotable announced that a new anime film titled Mahoutsukai no Yoru is under production. The good news for the fans is that this series has Aozaki in the lead.
Studio Ufotable released a teaser as well. In the teaser, Aoko & Alice are shown in a beautiful flower field, & the background music somehow gives unsettling but exciting vibes. The teaser can be checked out below:
Mahoutsukai no Yoru: Plot Details
The story of Type Moon’s Mahoustukai no Yoru is set in the late 1980s. Aoko Aozaki has just moved into an old mansion in Misaki town. There lives a young witch named Alice Kuonji, who used her magic to spread fearful legends about the mansion. But, Aoko had to protect her family property so they came to a treaty where Alice taught Aoko magic & Aoko let her stay over.
One day, a young boy named Sojuro Shizuki breaks in and ends up living with them too. However, one-day Aoko hears that her grandfather is dead. Later she discovers a terrifying reality, that her own older sister was the one who killed her grandfather and she is also after Aoko’s life. With these events, the story of mind wrecking suspense, drama, and action begins.
Mahoutsukai no Yoru: Release date
Ufotable Studio is already busy with an ongoing series in Kimetsu no Yaiba. Also, they are yet to announce the staff & cast of Mahoutsukai no Yoru. But, the good thing is that its production has already started. Hence, there is a possibility that Mahoutsukai no Yoru will premiere in the first half of 2023.
