Boku no Kanojo ga Majime Sugiru Sho-bitch na Ken, aka My Girlfriend is a Shobitch, is an original manga series, written & illustrated by Namiru Matsumoto & published by Kadokawa Shoten.

The series ran from July 20th, 2015 to September 13th, 2019, and published 8 volumes and 87 chapters. On September 6th, 2017, the anime adaptation was announced on Kadokawa’s Newtype Magazine website. The series was directed by Nobuyoshi Nagayama & produced by studio Diomedéa & Studio Blanc. It aired 10 episodes and 2 OVAs from October 12, 2017, to December 13, 2017.

Will The Series Return?

The anime managed to catch everyone’s attention right after its premiere. The series has a rating of 6.26 by 100k members in its MAL group and ranked #802 popularity poll.

Its premise and gags stood out very much, but the series also received some criticism because of some over-the-line jokes. But, by the end, the series was successful in doing the main job, entertaining fans, and getting the spotlight.

The series concluded after adapting the selective chapters from the first three volumes of the manga. Hence, the fans don’t have to worry about the source material as the makers still have more than enough of it.

So, the chances of My Girlfriend is Shobitch Season 2 are good for now. However, if the hiatus increases even more, then the chances will gradually decrease as well. 

Plot Details

The story of My Girlfriend is Shobitch follows Haruka Shinozaki who has a crush on his class rep, Akiho Kousaka. She seems to be a perfect model student, who aces everything in school. Finally, after mustering his courage, he confesses to her, and surprisingly she agrees to his proposal.

Though, she is not satisfied with being perfect in just school. She wants to be a perfect girlfriend who can satisfy all his needs, and that includes his sexual desires and fetishes too. The series may sound a bit obscene and weird but most of the time it’s wholesome and cute, and way too funny.

So, when will the series return? Probably sooner than the fans are expecting. Their merchandise did a satisfying business around the world and the manga is also finished. So, the makers must be looking forward to turning up the sales again. So, there is a possibility that they might announce the new season this very year.
