Hiro Shimomo Joins One Piece Cast as Kozuki Momonosuke

The Seiyuu(voice artist) for the adult version of Kozuki Momonosuke in One Piece is revealed now.

On 13th January 2023, the official website announced that Hiro Shimomo will join the cast of One Piece as the voice of grown-up Momo. The news came just a day before the release of episode 1047.

The actor is known for his work on many series like:-

  • Dabi in My Hero Academia
  • Nacht Faust in Black Clover 
  • Connie Springer in Attack on Titan
  • Zenitsu Agatsuma in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’s

The website also shared Hiro’s comment that he was a huge fan of the series and has been following the manga from the One-shot. He was waiting for his chance to work in the series ever since his debut as Seiyuu and was excited by the opportunity.

Hiro has recently taken the stage in MHA as Dabi from My Hero Academia and has made fans go wild all over the internet since he took over that role. The upcoming season 6 cour 2 of My Hero Academia will have Dabi’s final battle.

Young/current Momo(age 8) was voiced by Ai Orikasa. She has worked with the name for 3 years from 2013 Punk Hazard arc to Wano arc. Orikasa’s comments were also included with the announcement where she said that she will always remember her time as Momo and will watch his growth as Shogun, though she will miss the old Momo.

The next episode will have Kozuki Momonosuke grow up with the help of Shinobu’s Ripe-Ripe fruit powers. She ages Momo 20 years to fulfill his wish to use his Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu efficiently against Kaido.

This also became a spoiler for episode 1047, which will have the debut of grown-up Momo in the Wano arc. Momo has been a key character for two arcs since 2013. Momo will play a key role in the current arc.
