Previous Episode Recap

Episode 279 began with Batta naming Kiseru as the member of the group she suspected to be the traitor. Game 4 of 5 was titled “Sum.” Each survivor received a number from one to eight. To advance, players should have a total of 7, if they don’t, they have to use cards from the other players to bring their totals up to seven.

This episode revealed the secret of Fugou’s briefcase and his family. He and Batta were later killed by an unnamed assailant. Rokuro battled Boruto, who temporarily lost control and wanted to kill everyone there to put an end to the game. Natsume, Shamo, Namu, and Rokuro left when they defeated him by adding up the cards they had, while Boruto stuck behind to face Kiseru.

When Episode 279 ended, Rokuro, Yatsume, Shamo, and Namua quit the game, but Boruto stayed. They devised a plan to give each participant the required amount of 7, enabling them to move on to the next step. After Batta and Fugou were eliminated, just Kiseru remained in the game.

Possible Spoilers for Episode 280

As usual, episode 280 of Boruto will be anime canon. Boruto and others will try to uncover the identity of the assailant, with him revealed as an outer Kara, and the bout will be the beginning of climax of the arc.

But before that, there will be a backstory regarding Kiseru and his motives. Why is he an outer Kara? Did he Killatta and Fogou? Or maybe they are alive… Similar things have happened many times in the Naruto series. So, counting them out will be logical, but if they are alive the arc will stir up more mystery in episode 280.
